When to See a Physiotherapist?

Physiotherapy helps manage a wide range of conditions affecting muscles, joints, and overall mobility, including:

  • Neck and back pain – caused by muscle or skeletal problems

  • Musculoskeletal issues – arthritis, joint, muscle, and ligament problems, post-amputation care

  • Respiratory problems – such as asthma

  • Cardiac and stroke rehabilitation – treatment after a heart attack or stroke

  • Post-surgical care – e.g., hip or knee replacement recovery

  • Pelvic health issues – bladder and bowel concerns related to childbirth

  • Neurological conditions – loss of mobility from brain or spine trauma, Parkinson’s, or multiple sclerosis

  • Cancer-related care – fatigue, pain, swelling, stiffness, and muscle weakness, including palliative care

Depending on your circumstances, a doctor or nurse practitioner may refer you to physiotherapy. Otherwise, you can seek physiotherapy services independently.
